After receiving the FortiLink discovery frames, FortiGate adds the configuration of the newly discovered switch to FortiOS. The switch serial number, also known as the switch ID, appears in the list of managed switches as Unauthorized. The FortiSwitch port configuration added to FortiOS and the faceplate shown on the GUI for the switch, is based on the information contained in the FortiLink discovery frames.
