Which two statements about the Hub Selection Method in FortiSASE Secure Private Access (SPA) are correct? (Choose two answers)

  • A. When using Hub Health and Priority, FortiSASE selects the highest priority hub that meets the configured SLA thresholds.
  • B. When using BGP MED, FortiSASE selects the hub with the lowest MED value only if it also meets the configured SLA thresholds.
  • C. When using SLA thresholds, administrators can customize latency, jitter, and packet loss for each security POP.
  • D. When using Hub Health and Priority, all hubs with the same priority are always selected regardless of SLA results.

Definitely A & B. The other answers are incorrect.

Hub health and priority: FortiSASE has a built-in SD-WAN engine for intelligent routing selection among the established IPsec links. The health check IP address periodically receives jitter, latency, and packet loss for each service connection. FortiSASE selects the highest priority hub within each POP that meets the lowest-cost service-level agreement (SLA) requirements. For this configuration, the FortiSASE and SPA hub should be using the same autonomous system number (ASN).

BGP multiple exit discriminator (MED): This attribute allows an autonomous system to advertise routes to another peer set. FortiSASE learns the MED value from the configured hubs. The lower the MED value, the more preferred the path to the receiving router is.

Page 64 Study Guide: The guide explicitly states that for the BGP MED selection method, "SD-WAN SLA rules are disabled in this mode". Therefore, it does not evaluate SLA thresholds when using BGP MED. So B is wrong.
Page 69 Study Guide: The "Monitoring Health" section outlines the SD-WAN performance SLA check. It lists the default parameters as "Latency threshold: 120 milliseconds", "Jitter threshold: 55 milliseconds", and "Packet loss threshold: 1%". It then explicitly states, "You can edit the parameters for each POP".

FortiSASE supports the following hub selection methods:
• Hub health and priority: Highest priority service connection that meets minimum SLA requirements

BGP multiple exit discriminator (MED): A lower MED value is the preferred path

A and C are correct.

B cannot be correct, since there are no SLA thresholds in BGP MED.
