Untagged VLANs: Defines VLANs for which egress traffic is sent untagged. This setting is mainly used for specific features, such as quarantine MAC or dynamic VLAN assignment. The untagged VLAN must be part of the allowed VLAN list for it to be effective. Page 127 of the guide LAN Edge 7.6, Correct Answer is A

Untagged VLAN (Native VLAN): If packets arriving at a FortiSwitch port do not have any VLAN tag (such as traffic originating from computers, printers, or standard end-user devices), the switch assigns this traffic to the "Untagged VLAN" configured on that port. In other words, it automatically applies that specific VLAN tag to the incoming untagged traffic and forwards it within the switch fabric accordingly. When sending traffic back to the connected device, it strips the tag off (untagged) before delivery.
Tagged VLANs (Allowed VLANs): If traffic from multiple networks needs to pass through a single port (such as deployments involving an IP phone + PC combination or Access Points), tagged VLANs ensure that these distinct traffic streams are carried with their respective VLAN tags intact.
What is the primary purpose of configuring an untagged VLAN on a FortiSwitch port in a network deployment? (Choose one answer)
